Regardless of the stage your company is in, a consultant can always be the right fit. Working with varied customers allows a consultant to see success stories with other companies, or glean lessons learned from the not-so-successful stories. As an entrepreneur whose company expanded from 0 to 150 team members, we understand the constantly changing needs of a growing company. We will help you adapt to those changes and stages to bring a level of sophistication that your employees and customers will appreciate! A consultant is a good choice if the company is at the stage where you want to limit overhead. While a full-time HR person might offer more hours, there is a higher monthly obligation plus additional expenses of raises, taxes, benefits, time off, etc. A consultant can build your HR staff and process if your company is ready to take on the task. If you are at the stage where you already have HR in place, a consultant can collaborate with your current HR department in an advisory role to bring best practices and keep abreast of market conditions.
The minimum monthly cost is 10 hours. Hours do not roll month to month. I allot that time each month to be available to you. Without earmarking time, those hours would be allotted to another customer making me unavailable when you need help. It is also a small price compared to just one Employee Relations issue for the year.
Having a consultant working on your behalf will minimize your liabilities but will never eliminate all of them. We will work to be sure you have fewer issues and when you do run into one, we will have processes in place that will put you in the best possible position to handle them, not to mention support you through the process. We will then evaluate the situation for lessons learned to implement preventative measures. Fewer claims on your insurance will also keep your insurance premiums lower.
I am available by phone and email for any HR surprises or situations.
